Subject: [CR]Carlton Corsair crank problem

I know I should have realised before but I didn't, I thought it was the old SR pedal clicking on it's slightly 'notched' bearings turns out it was the Left crank coming loose, anyway it didn't look too bad so I tightened it up TIGHT! Anyway a few weeks passed and I sussed it was just starting too loosen again, so I nipped it up straightaway. Now when I got home I took it off and checked out the tapers inside the crank which had a slight wear in them(ridges) so I VERY carefully filed them level, then cleaned up the crank spindle thread etc and reassembled same with Loctite retainer on the crank and nutlock on the threads. The threadlock and retainer are old probably about 8 years so I don't have much faith it will stay tight, so has anybody got a 170mm left hand SR crank for a Carlton Corsair from around 1979, it has Raleigh cast into the arm instead of the usual sticker.
