Simon PJ asked:
>Are they only for lightweight riders?
I don't believe so.
>Can they only take limited tyre pressures?
They're for tubulars, so tyre pressure is not an issue.
>Mainly for track use?
My understanding is that they are prohibited for track use for safety reasons. A crash that would pretzel a metal rim can turn a wooden rim into a cloud of sharp splinters. There used to be gruesome injuries as a result of this.
