Subject: [CR]Shipping a frame UK to US - cost?

"I realize that this has probably been covered many times before, but I
could not find anything in the archives. I'm working on a frame purchase
from England, a frame I really want, but the seller is quoting me a
price of
~150 pounds, which to my limited experience is about $300 US. Can this
possibly be correct? This seems ridiculously expensive to me for just
the
frame. I know prices have gone up, but was not expecting quite that
high.
Any recommendations to bring this cost down? Any advice is most
appreciated."
The best service I can find at the moment is that offered by
http://www.parcel2go.com/ . The cost with them will be about 65 to 70
GBP,
but of course the seller will have other costs such as packing
materials,
and there is also quite a lot of work involved in acquiring and
modifying a
box to meet the size restrictions, and in making a good job of packing
the
frame. Parcel2go act as an agent for Fedex for US shipments, and the
box
will be collected from the seller, on-line tracked all the way, and
delivered within 4 days. There is quite a lot of paperwork involved,
and
the service is only available on-line, including payment, which can be
by
Paypal.
