I purchased a frame at the Cirque charity auction this last year (just what I needed, another frame). Pergolizzi's fast talking shpeel conned me into bidding on what was stickered a D'Arienzo. I was acting as a shill, trying to generate some action. Nobody bit after my opening bid. Apparently D'Arienzos aren't as hot as say, Poliaghis.
After the blurr of the five or six Heinikens I had consummed that night began to fade, and upon closer inspection, I was surprised to find that the frameset was actually a Basso. Dropouts, seat stays, rear brake bridge, and fork crown are all stamped with either "Basso", or the Basso "B".
I googled D'Arienzo Basso and got a few hits on similar vintage bikes. Anybody know the scoop?
