Sure those (Panaracer) Grand Bois have a nice smooth Clement-like tread and a sexy name (large wood?) but what is wrong with good old Panaracer Paselas? They are really the same casing with a slightly more aggressive tread. I've ridden them for years and they are half the price of the GB because they make millions of them not hundreds. Certainly a lot nicer than any taiwan gumwall or blackwall. Readily available from several sources in 27 x 1 regular, 27 x 1 1/8 and 27 x 1 1/4 regular or belted. That's plenty of sizes and I use all of them on various bikes including Paramounts, Hetchins, Ephgrave, Jack Taylors. One flat on my daily driver in 4 years of commuting on them.
