Subject: [CR]Fork threading?

I'm looking for a drilled fork to use on an old Serotta lugged steel track frame. Soma is offering a chromed one that's fairly cheap and the lugwork doesn't look too bad with Serotta, but it only comes in a threadless steerer, and I really don't like the look of them, though I might settle on the nitto lugged stem as the least bad of the lot.

I've heard various stories as to how hard it is to cut threads on a threadless steerer and was curious if anybody on the list had done it, or had it done, and where?

thanks for any suggestions.
