yes, he is a bit optomistic. Perhaps he added up the prices he could expect to get from the (mostly quite desirable) components and picked that number as his reserve. Or, its not about the bike, its about the components.

Spoken as one who has purchased a bike solely for the crankset and another for the saddle.
