Glad you got it out finally. It still puzzles me why anybody would use Loctite to secure the adjustable cup; that's what the lockring is for. I could see maybe using it on an Italian threaded fixed cup because it's RH thread and in theory it could loosen if it's not tight enough. The only excuse for using Loctite on the adjustable cup would be if the threads were badly worn or almost stripped and the cup rocked. In that case there are Loctite products just for that purpose. As someone already mentioned, this is such a large diameter thread that you don't want to use a high strength grade. Loctite 222, meant easy disassembly or tiny setscrews should be adequate.
