Jon, whoever is selling this Raleigh Pro probably realizes they can part it out for something more than the current bid price of $717, so why would they offer to sell it to us for 500 bucks (or whatever cheaper price you think is more appropriate)???? Have you tried to buy a 1974 Campy brakeset on eBay lately? Crankset? Derailleurs? Wheelset? Cinelli bars & stem? etc.......
Most 531 bikes sold in the 70's with full Campy groupo have gone up in value. That should be no surprise to anyone on this list. I wish I could buy another brand new 1975 Masi for $900 but I know that won't be happening. Same for wanting to buy a complete decent Raleigh Pro for $500.
Collectible things (and the parts attached to them) go up in value.
