Subject: [CR]Tyres I use on our wooden tracked Velodrome

Hi all, I'm not fast, the fastest I think has only been 37kph, so as you can see I'm not quick, the track is smooth wood and my clincher wheelset uses Continental Grand Prix Supersonic 23mm. All that I ever done to these was sand the mould line and dimples on the smooth surface with some 320grit wet and dry sandpaper, took a wee while but well worth the results, these ride dead smooth, then gave a clean with some meths on a rag. My tubular wheelset uses Challenge Crono PPS, these have a file tread pattern, all I done to these was give a wipe with some meths on a rag before using. Using either wheelset I've never fallen off, don't intend to either, speed is the main factor as well as not having any stickers/labels on the trackside but rather on the inside, hope this helps somebody..........regards wayne davidson in warm sunny Invers.............
