Following up on a very interesting series of posts here on CR, I had a conversation with Jack Trumball of Franklin Frames in Ohio (I've got a connection with Jack- as his devoted client).
Jack, a master craftsman, has built about 20 lugged titanium frames over a period of years. These bikes are made by gluing the tubes and lugs. Furthermore, the lugs, tubes and BB are entirely fashioned by hand-a lengthy, and therefore expensive process.
If anyone is interested, I'm sure that Jack himself could provide more details.
