Some one on the list recently asked about Freddy Parr. Freddy just posted this message to the framebuilder's list. Freddy is a very unique and non-mainstream guy. He and his wife bought a place in the desert a few years back and he has been working on making it a framebuilders training ground/meeting place, etc. Think Paolo Soleri of framebuilding. His dad's background was aerospace technology and he has developed some great products for framebuilders (I use them). Framebuilding is his great passion and I hope he can fulfill his dream - he deserves it. I think this is all related to the issue of brazing Ti lugged frames - which Freddy says he has some knoledge of. His post below:

"This Project has been dragging on so long now that I have been feeling very "Dismal" BUT, with a little luck and maybe some "Spiritual" intervention, this place will be ready to begin some get- togethers and classes in a few days.
As for products, I have a pile of pictures from builders using "Fillet Pro"(and our fluxes and rods) and plan to post them, but time has been used everyday to the limit making over this old house and grounds, I am exhausted and nearly broke.
I am going to try and make a long post this weekend, but my hands are so sore from doing concrete on this place that typing is misery>>>>>>>
Since Georgine has become so busy working for the City of Douglas, I have just myself to depend on for 5 out of seven days, I have not taken a day off in 2 1/2 years >> so meeting with some of you here will be a vacation for me, and I really need it.
Many new developments are in the works such as a Aviator torch 2009, an updated all purpose system "Not" Smith but can use Smith tips, or Victor or Harris, cool ? Eh ? and lighter a less cash than competition.
The DVD is now in fourth final production and is being broken down to a serial, that is an ungoing series with CD library so all the information that would not fit or even ake sense in the earlier "Beta" versions is accessable and understand able, pricing remains the same, the information is the important issue.
Now for the comment about flux and rod, I am slow to get my offings for one reason only, I don't mark up the products very much and the suppliers that I get raw materials and the mills that make the rods are very set on "Large" purchases by Me or anyone... So? I run out? then scramble for cash to get the next "Mill run" or pail of chemicals.
If we could "Escrow" cash as a Group in the future it would help a lot and of course the Project Re-Build of this place is winding down so my personal cash is going to be more available, to date only a very few of the members have paid in advance to speed up the supply, 90% of the supply has been my personal cash, and so close to "not enough" that the other 10% from members has made it happen, without that? well? Probably a Zero and no goods at all, Thanks for the help !
I gotta get some rest, so later all you spendid dream builders, Freddy"
