Bob Broderick's directed me to his notes on Sakea Ringyo (SR). Interesting, this sourcing, which continues today. Sugino manufactures the Impact model crankset for Stronglight. IIRC, a principal for Stronglight told a journalist that Stronglight completes the finishing.

And, I was assured, that later model MAVIC "starfish" cranksets "were absolutely positively manufactured by Stronglight".

R.S. Broderick reports in his notes on Mavic rims that SR was the supplier for (some) Mavic cranksets (and chainrings?) For which main models was this true, those drawing for style on '70s Campagnolo Record and NR cranksets?

What other well-finished cranksets did SR make under contract for others?

And, if I may be solicit a 1-3 word OT response -- Who made the starfish cranksets for Mavic?
