David Beane has got his facts just about correct on this bike he is buying.

Joe - a very class top amateur racing man, Uk team etc, and Dave Yates were both partners in the M. Steel bike shop in Gosfroth just outside Newcastle upon Tyne, UK.

Dave was a former teacher who taught himself to build frames and he built u p a good reputation. He still builds but is now self-employed from his own small workshop in Norfolk where he tends to concentrate on touring and auda x type machines. He has completed the arduous and demanding Paris-Brest-Par is ride so he knows what qualities are expected of and needed in frames for this dsicipline.

Joe also qualified at Steels as a Reynolds 753 builder..and he still manage s the shop to this day, although I don't think that many frames are being p roduced. I think that the shop also holds the rights to the Flying Scot nam e.

At best the frames were well-built, competent, and purpose -specific. Don't expect frills and flourishes, but you will get a good ride and reliability ..
