Subject: [CR]Rims and San Marco seats

Listers,

Rims are spoken for.

As for San Marco saddles: The new ones have an inferior seat rail/seat atta chment. The original Regal had rails that went into an enclosed nose. The n ew ones do not enclose the front seat rail/seat juncture. I'm not sure how much of a real performance difference it makes, but it bothers me for some reason.

I do know that I've been using the same (now recently retired) Regal for mo re than ten years, on road bikes and... on a mountain bike. Despite many cr ashes, both on the road and off the road, the seat has only now given up th e ghost - and only in that the leather has been abraded through in some par ts. Keep in mind, I got the saddle as a take-off from a bike that was being worked onĀ at a shop, so it was used when I got it.

Wonderfully comfortable - and durable saddle - not so sure the 'durable' pa rt holds up for the new ones.
