Well, this Scotsman tried valiantly to have Campagnolo honor their replacem ent warranty on their 50 year Anniversary items and the lifetime warranty o n the Nuovo Record parts. The cheek of those Italians, to delay and deny th at which our souls did rest.    BT

Hi,

Thought I'd share this - a "letter to the Editor" from Cycling, May 11, 1949:

------------------ How's that for a grouse? The bottom tube of my bicycle bought under a 50 years' comprehensive guarantee at a cost of £6, with sprints, has broken, but I find that the makers have now ceased to trade. The date of the purchase was May, 1911, thus leaving 12 of the guarantee still to run. What would a Scotsman do about it? ------------------

Even in 1949, this apparently was unusual/interesting enough to win the "best letter" award :) (http://tinyurl.com/6nentk)
