Subject: [CR]Bob Jackson: Model and dating the frame set. (bruce thomson)

English and Brit Bike affectionados:  I have just received my Bob Jackson frame, and aside from a serial number, there is no model name (if there we re any) and the numerals 11982 stamped in the BB shell and on the fork stee rer. I am well into doing the touch-up paint and will outfit it later.  I would like to know want that represents, if its a serial number or a date code.    This frame has no fender eylet holes and without measuring the angle s, I as assuming it is a pure road frame.  Campy drop-outs.  I want thi s one to sport the T.A. cranks and not sure as yet what else.    Within one month I acquired a Jack Taylor, a Bob Jackson, and a Hetchin s.  Now I am broke and will be selling off the unwanted parts to several other bikes and some off topic stuff to breath life back into the bank acco unt. Bruce, You can get in touch with Bob Jackson Cycles direct and for £10 they will send you a copy of the build card which will have the build date , tubing, model, and colour. They did the same for me a year or two back for my 1979 Super Tourist and
also supplied a bottle of touch-up paint!
Good luck
