I'm planning to build a KOF weight weenie bike. I just bought a set of 531 SL tubing and I have a set of 1010 long dropouts and an assortment of old sheet metal lugs.
I mentioned to a friend I was thinking about a Ti railed Brooks for a saddle. He said that when he worked for a wholesale outfit, Island Cycle back in the '80s, they got several returned Brooks' with broken Ti rails.
Has this been a problem with current production?
BTW while the diminished quality of anything cycle related is cause for sadness, I must admit that I'm glad it no longer takes a bazzillion miles to break in a Brooks. I have far too many bikes to put many miles on any one of them.
