The best way to ship from Italy is via Paccocelere Internazionale through t he Italian P.O. It's fast and cheap(about 1 week costing about 150 euros).

Here is the English website: http://www.poste.it/en/postali/parcels/int_swift_parcel_post.shtml

If the frame is average or small, he should be able to fit everything in 1 box. He will need to remove fork and right crank. Tell him the max dimens ions are: lunghezza+larghezza+profondità: totale non superiore a 225 cm.

Tell him to check on line or at the P.O. for exact cost. Scott Davis St.Anthony, Minnesota USA

As the subject line says, I am currently trying to advise a seller in Milan on the best way to ship a bike to me here in Lancaster, PA. I checked the archives, but also know this stuff changes from time to time, and I'd like to provide him with up-to-date advice. The last time I had a difficulty wit h a bike-shipping-naive seller, Charles Andrews heroically stepped into the breach. However, sending Charles to Italy to take care of the problem is n ot economically feasible for me at this time (sorry Charles).

Gratefully,

Ed Granger Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA (And yes, the bike in question is solidly on-topic)
