Whenever I have car parts acid dipped, it's the alluminum that dissolves. Is it a different kind of acid that dissolves steel before alluminum? Derek Willburn Long Beach, CA USA

\r?\n> The anodizing process will include the immersion in acid and
\r?\n> the steel will be dissolved and in the process both ruining
\r?\n> your chosen color and ruining the rest of the batch that is
\r?\n> being done. If there were a way of getting the two part
\r?\n> spoke ferrules and installing them like rivets, after the
\r?\n> anodizing, then drill out the ferrules and do it. I
\r?\n> don't know of anyone who has the spoke ferrules or how
\r?\n> they are installed. BT

\r?\n> Actually, the ferrules should be steel, so they won't
\r?\n> be anodized, but they may be painted. Ferrules/eyelets are
\r?\n> put on after the ano process.
