I was surprised to save $40 with FedEx over USPS with FedEx --net cost $36 --on shipping a Proteus road bike to Iowa from DC. That saving allows for yet more time and more packing and yet more insurance.

Which leave this question: Can folks report on claims experience for bikes damaged through negligence of the carrier?
