The Stronglight 118 spindle was normally used on a French/English road doub le. I think the triple spindle was at least 122. So the chainstay cle arance may be a little close when using a 118 spindle on a triple, especial ly when using a 42T inner which is a bit larger than typical for a triple i nner. One doesn't see that many mod 93 triples, probably because the sma llest ring was 38T, not much of a granny for a triple. I always thought the 122 BCD mod 93 should have taken a 36T, considering that there are 38T rings made for the Shimano 130 BCD circle. But I've never seen a mod 93 ring smaller than 38T.
