Subject: [CR]FOR SALE - Barelli Supreme Platform Pedals - NOS / NIB

All right then....

Since I have spent the last few days (...daze?) looking over my parts stores trying to figure out how I am going to properly pack everything up in preparation for the upcoming move, I will take this opportunity to somewhat prematurely offer these finites up to the CR List cognoscenti:

Barelli Supreme pedals - platform style - nickel chrome steel spindles - aluminum alloy top plate, spindle housing, and central frame - annular sealed bearings - 9/16" x 20 TPI thread - model Supreme Aluminum ... [quantity 1 pair - NOS / NIP - includes original box, packaging, and instructions (...all ephemera being in pristine shape - as are the pedals themselves)]

$200.00 USD to include USPS Priority Mail shipping with Delivery Confirmation and Insurance

In the formative stages of my determining just how I would build up my 1977 Exxon Graftek G-1, I had thought to use these superlative British made pedals. However, I ultimately decided to go the full Weyless route (...hubs, pedals, seat post, water bottle cage, water bottle, top tube brake cable clips - the whole range of "hard" parts they once offered) because I thought it perhaps more appropriate the equip that uniquely American frameset with as many contemporary trick American components as possible (...and I will be offering up a whole lot of Weyless spares and other goodies to the List over the next few weeks). In any event, the Barelli Supreme pedals in question are now destined to collect dust (...or at least their original packaging box will) until such time as I find a more suitable project - and I am decidedly NOT looking for one right now.

Please note that the pedals I am offering for sale here are NOT the Barelli B-10 model seen in the eBay auction cited. I have a set of those too designated for use on my 1975 Crescent Pepita 320 as seen here:

While the B-10 model is an excellent pedal in its own right, it is the Barelli Supreme that many cycling pundits consider to be the absolute finest pedal of its era. I am sorry to say that I do not have photographs of the actual item available for inspection at this time (...Ben Kamenjas' eBay outing has prompted my "for sale" posting rather unexpectedly), but I would be happy to take a few pix tomorrow during daylight hours. And I can certainly fire off a series of those photos to any prospective buyer prior to them committing to purchase (...although I always offer items to the CR List with a 100% money back guarantee of satisfaction).

Interested parties are invited to please contact me directly and "OFF LIST" to arrange custody.

P.S. For those who might wish to view a photograph of those Barelli Supreme pedals as posted to Richard Byrne's Speedplay Pedal Museum, you can use the following link:

Thereafter, you will need to scroll over to the year 1977.
