"That's understood. But please enlighten us as to why Landshark is defined as a Keeper Of the Flame?. I've read you mention them in the past and it's on the US KOF page of the Classic Rendezvous website yet I have a hard time regarding Landshark's as "classic". Vanilla, Bohemian ... yes, makes perfect sense. Landshark ??? There must be something I'm missing.

Even though the majority of John Slawta's work is non KOF at the moment, he did build lugged and fillet brazed steel for years (even some during on topic years). And still can if requested.

Yes, Hampsten's win was '88, but still on lugged steel and still KOF. More importantly how many independent American builders can claim a Major Grand Tour win on one of their bikes?

In this day of over the top artisan lugged bikes it's worth remembering that a race frame has to work right as well. In this little corner of Oregon half the local racers are on John's bikes including John himself. And they are usually all on the front.
