Interesting point, Jerry. I just grabbed the seatpost that is currently out of one of my fillet-brazed Viscounts (which is the same exact post as my fillet-brazed Lambert, something ending in "-LUX", I forget what, this one is too badly scratched and the Lambert is in storage 30 miles from her e) and measured it. It's a heavy 26.6/light 26.7 as well and it is a very tight fit.

I wonder, was there an English 1.05" post? That comes to around 26.669mm which seems to concur with our measurements.

"Anyone know what size seatpost Lamberts used?  I'd assumed either 26.8 o r 27.2 as typical of high end British bikes, but I just received what may be a Lambert post from a list member (they don't seem to be marked).  I mea sured it and a couple I already had, including the original one on my ear ly lugged Viking badged Lambert.  They all measure between 26.6 and 26. 7, so I suppose it was a nominal 26.6, as I never heard of a 27.7 post, unl ess this was another thing unique to Lambert.  Did Lambert take 26.6 then ?  If so was it only the early lugged ones, or the later fillet brazed on es as well?
