Just because somebody is asking for a lot of money does not mean it is worth that much. Perhaps we should postpone the discussion until somebody has bid on them?

There are lots of houses in Seattle that fall into that category...

On those calipers, the seller might have seen an old auction for a super-rare first-generation set and not realized the difference. The first generation has a different arm shape, see this photo from "The Golden Age of Handbuilt Bicycles":
