The Confente belongs to a class of collectables where the relevant question is not so much "Is it worth it?" as is what must you pay to acquire one? Of course some newer bikes may have "gone beyond" it: doesn't matter. You wanna play in these leagues, you gotta pay the price. Is a stamp with an upside down airplane "Worth" millions of dollars? Not an appropriate question. It will neither send a letter nor wipe a messy posterior.it just sells for that much.
I remember many ears ago in my Antiques collecting period when a local Antiques Dealer came up with a Rhinoceros horn mounted on a wooden stand. I was aghast when he quoted me a price. The rascal looked me right in the eye and enquired "where can you get one any cheaper?"
