This Romic thread nudges me to mention a Romic I picked up awhile back, mostly for the parts. It's slightly tall for me, but this Romic, like a number of others, has a very long wheelbase and fairly slack angles, so a slightly larger frame like this actually works quite well for me. I was going to sell the frame off, but then I rode it a bit, and decided it was worth keeping.

I swapped out most of the parts for perfectly good but anonymous items...and I've been using it on our road-bike fire-road rides with some fat Serfas tires and it's performed beautifully. It'll probably turn into my regular commuter eventually. It's not especiallly pretty, having a kind of unattractive gold-metallic finish with sloppy lining around the lugs, but this is all actually a bonus since it might be slightly less attractive to the casual thief. It does have chromed ends though, drat it..so some bling.

A very nice bike, all in all. Worth snagging one if you can find one in your size.
