While I have loads of respect for all the restorers on the list, I can't help being disappointed by this particular restoration.
While it's nicely done, there are a few things that to my mind make it more a repaint than a restoration.
Compared to the before pictures The new white panel on the seat tube is a good deal longer, and that makes it necessary to eliminate the box lining between the panel and the tubing sticker. The box lining on the chainstays is quite different as well, the original is all below the centerline while the new takes up the whole chainstay. The spacing of all the boxlining is a bit wide as well.
Still, It's a beautiful job, it just seems a bit wrong to call it a restoration with so many differences. If it was mine, I'd prefer that it be much more faithful to the original.
Ok, I'm ready for the flames to begin
