I'm interested, but my current vocational situation might curtail my ability to offer a bid at the moment. I do have a question about these pieces, though.

What is "emmanchemente"? The size of the tool required to tighten the lock nut, or what? This is another one of those cases in which I understand the plain meaning of the word (the "pshat" as we say in Hebrew), but not necessarily how it applies to some specific situation, such as a bicycle's headset.

By the way, I have bikes from the 1970s with these headsets, although - as you mention - they were probably first introduced much earlier. Actually, I would not be surprised if the first appearence of this headset was in the pre-war years.
