jesse,

the general rule is to shift to the largest ring and sprocket and the angle of the pulley cage should be about 45 degrees. any closer to horizontal and shifting to the large rear cog will suffer; less, and the chain can sag or the cage will hit the cassette when using small-chainring/small-sprocket combos. your combination isn't very radical so this should be easy to achieve.

of course, with those (off-topic) CN-7700 chains you only get one shot per link, so it's best to measure carefully or even use a zip tie to "mock up" the final result. read the instructions and be very careful when inserting those replacement chain pins as you really don't want the joint to fail.

good luck, randy dugan van nuys, ca usa

What would the reccomended chain length in links be on an 86' Ciocc? I'm at 112 links now I think.
