... i used to ride on-topic bicycles into the district from virginia to all kinds of celebrations. my old ross signature has seen carter, ford, the pope, gay parades, the fourth of july, the smithsonian kite thing, etc ... and of course, the annual national capitol criterium more than once. anyone remember that one.
... anyway my advice is to just stay away, and watch it all on the telly.
... this has all the makings of a real catastrophe. the local subway system (metro) all but conceded today that they can't handle the estimated riders. there are not enough spaces for the expected tour buses. the police are worried about you know what. the park police have been mia for several years. many streets will be closed, and some bridges will be closed to auto traffic.
... other than that, hey, it's a good day. i found a signed jersey in the "old back closet", from andy hampster. i knew it was in there somewhere. can't beat that with a stick !
