Having found a set of Mafac 2000s in my box (what did they come off of, I wonder - getting old) I now need the straddle wires both of which were broken/frayed. Easy way - someone digs in his/her box and sells them to me, or knows where to obtain a replacement.
Second possibility - I get a wire off an old Weinmann or some such thing and file the ends until they fit in the small recesses in the Mafacs. Will I produce my very own disaster waiting to happen, or would members consider this a viable option?
Lastly, when did the 2000 appear on the market? I think I can remember them from the eighties.
