Charles Andrews thinks it's a 1977, and Scott Smith thought 1978, so somewhere in that vicinity. Charles also says that all the '76-'79s are basically the same bike, so there you have it from the experts in my neck of the woods.
It measures 60cm C-C on the seat tube.
I purchased it off eBay last year in anticipation of the Colnago focus for Chuck Schmidt's VR07, but I never built it up. I would like to find it a better home than my garage rafters.
It has been nicely refinished. The only oddity is the addition of a braze-on chain hanger. My guess is that it was re-done, built, never ridden, and then disassembled, based on the minor paint wear at the dropouts and brake holes. There are no signs of actual use as far as I can tell. There is a small scratch in the headtube decal which doesn't much detract from the overall beauty of this piece. The white stripe visible in the photo on the chainstay is glare, not damage.
