I'm not saying it can't be done, but it won't be an optimum fit. (Unless the cranks have been installed and removed so many times they've been coined to a new size. Or if the spindle has been machined undersized.)

Whether they are ISO or not, old Campi tapers are smaller than JIS. Every old Campi spindle I checked went too far into every JIS crank I tried. Every JIS spindle I checked only went part way into every old Campi crank I tried. Close enough? Maybe, but they aren't making any more of those old cranks. I'd rather use the right spindle than take a chance.

BTW one negative with square tapered cranks is inconsistent chain line from unit to unit of the same model. More of a problem with cheap cranks than good ones. However there is more variation in taper size with spindles where the flats are machined than with cheap spindles where the flats are forged.
