Good afternoon
As I was out today on my Carpenter enjoying an unusually mild early February day, I noticed that the left pedal did not feel quite right. nothing appeared immediately obvious; the cleat had not become loose, etc. A little later it got worse and I noticed it was a whole lot worse than a loose cleat. The crankarm had developed a quite ominous crack about a half inch above the pedal. Damn. Fortunately, I was not too far from home and it was flat. Walked the final hill to prevent it from totally breaking.
So, has anyone possibly got an orphan fluted Chater Lea crank arm in a 6 and 1/2 inch length??
Is it possible to weld this and make it serviceable again?
