I know! I know! (Hey, there are so few questions here I can answer, I can get excited about this, can't I?)

The rack on Mike's car in "Breaking Away" is an Atkins-Graber, one of the less expensive but reasonably decent roof racks you could get back then. Clunky and utilitarian.
