Two interesting sales: 130194522975 360020259947 George

George,

The first set is the newer stainless type, and is widely available. $25 is about right, possibly a tad over-priced. The other set is early and rare. Note the different logo which has a lot more detail in the feathers of the wing. These things come up only on rare occasions on ebay, and usually sell for well over $100 in so-so condition. I think they were prone to rusting and very few sets survived in decent shape. Also, Iots of people used other means to secure cables back then, so they may not have been common even in their day.

There is a third version, intermediate to these. It looks like the newer one but it is chromed steel, not stainless. The chromed type are pretty hard to find in good shape, though not as rare or expensive as the early version. The SS type look the part but are not exactly correct for bikes before the mid 70's.
