I don't know about the rest of you, but God I hope so!

As it is now we have to spend huge sums of money at the custom frame builde rs for a bicycle that is practical and comfortable for long distance riding . It would be a huge boom for traditional road riding if we could get a ra ndonneur bike at the local bike shop. Mass production would also lower the cost and raise the quality, and this would swell the masses to our insight s and joys. If Trek and Lemond are reading this, I'll take mine in a 62cm frame with a tasteful and traditional colors. I'll always love my Steve Re x, but people new to this sport should not be asked to fork over such large amounts of money when they are just getting started in the sport.

Don't forget your sweetheart tomorrow!

I can see it now--an al/carb Trek 650b randonneur wit h Bontrager-branded centerpulls on intergal pivots and Honjo-knockoff fende rs--and a Lemond 700c randonneur similarly equipped, both with appropriate chainstay length for triple ring, too-many-cogs drive trains, maxed out tir e clearance, light wiring tubes and rack mounts molded into the carbon fork
