Listers with time to spare,

Just came across this while trying to find out more about BMZ or Biemezzeta in Padova:

An article from 1986 about shopping for bikes in Italy (OT? maybe, but not by much).

What's interesting, besides the contents of the article itself, is the complete and total lack of attention and fact-checking in the article - certainly when it comes to spelling. I thought that accuracy was one of the hallmarks of the Gray Lady!

didn't find much about BMZ and besides what a Google search turned up (including CR list discussion about a Paolo Alto) precious little- even in Italian. Does anyone have a good resource or web page about BMZ or other Italian contract builders?

I now own a Billatto built Greg Lemond Team Z TSX bike and a delightful BMZ Lazarretti. Apparently I specialize in Italian contract builder bikes... not sure how that happened.

Also, has anyone ever seen a Patelli, as mentioned at the end of the NY Times article?

Researching and expanding my trove of useless cycling knowledge,
