First, thanks for ruling out Vito Perucci as the possible builder? Did he import bikes under his own name ever?
Second, a list reader, but non-list member, whose privacy I will honor, just identified the Perucci's derailleur as a Swiss made Versol Model X dating from the 1940s to 1950s.
Third, given that we've seen a few BSA light weights of good quality from the 30s-50s mentioned on the list over the years, and given that they were English threaded, dare we infer this Perucci is actually an English-made bike with English threads and an Italiate name?
I vaguely recall an Italianate-named bike being made in England, but can't pin point if this was that brand.
