Hello list,
A question for my European brothers (and sisters). I am currently in Copenhagen and about to move on to Stockholm. Does anyone know of a on-topic bike shop in either city? I only have a few days in each city so my time is limited, but with a good address I could easily find my way around. I would like to come home with some vintage parts to complete some of my outstanding projects, perhaps even bring home a nice, tall Crescent frame or bike. Oh, the thought of another project. What would the wife say... As a side note I am very impressed with the bike culture here in Copenhagen. I only wish cities in the USA came remotely close to the amount of riders on these streets here. i have never seen anything like it. All I can say is it's amazing! I also saw many nice parts mounted on "town" bikes as I was walking around Copenhagen today including a nice Mod. 90 Ideale Aluminum rail saddle on a very rough "town bike". I almost wanted to ring the house bell and ask the owner if they wanted to sell it. One thing I did notice was the lack of road bikes being ridden. Perhaps this was because I was overwhelmed with all the other bikes being ridden on the streets.
If someone has any ideas where I might be able to find some hard to come by parts (Magistroni cranks, Simplex, NR English headset) drop me an email off list. Thanks!
BTW, stopped in to see a custom builder's shop - Sogreni Of Copenhagen. He builds several type of steel bikes, cool fenders and parts. Including a very cool pair of track pedals. If you have not seen his shop it's worth the look.
