I would like to start out Thanking, Don Gillies, Pete Brueggeman, Via Bike, John Strizek, Bill Roberts, and Clyde Putman, if I missed anyone else sorry. Now check these out, (www.biketoolsetc.com) and search bottom bracket threadless. (www.melimports.com) and click on bottom brackets. (www.sjscycles.co.uk) search bottom bracket, page 3. Now I plan to try everyone of these out for I have three Lamberts to build, for myself, I am very greedy and selfish. Yes there micro adjust seat post is nice, there forward thinking on the frame is nice also, it ways about a pound less than a aluminum bike. Also if you take apart a center-pull and properly rebuild it, it will work quite nicely. If you use a Dia-Compe G 500 Side pull you can lose a little weight on cable holders on headset and seat tube nut and bolt. Switch to an Araya 700 rim and get a decent skinny tire that holds more air for an all around better ride with less resistance. Switch a couple of things around on the fork tube for less hardware. Plus there are a couple of ways to fix the death fork with titanium fasteners and some mordern bonding compounds. Besides old men like me cannot go that fast to wreck a deathfork in good shape anyway. Your chances of getting shot in todays world are better, or my heart exploding on a bike. Or just bring a good fork to the powder coat shop and get it coated with the high temp silver exhaust coating and it will look like the death fork. Add the Suntour all aluminum VGTLUXE in the rear with a small cluster five gear Madea Perfect and a more mordern Suntour front that moves to the big gear when the cable was pulled short. Use maybe a 53-39 lighter crank set with some drillium and drillium on the rear cluster too and your on a good steel ride, if it has a Brooks saddle that is not like a new baseball glove. Hate to see a great frame go to waste.
