I recently acquired a late 60's all chrome Paramount touring bike, Campy Gran Tourismo boat anchor and all. I have a couple of chrome racing models and a 50th Anniversary, but had been looking for a chrome touring model for years.
To me, only red Hunt-Wilde bar tape looks quite right on a chrome Paramount, but I've exhausted my stash. Anyone got a couple of rolls, or even one roll, for sale or trade? I'll gladly pay cash, trade Hunt-Wilde of another color, or trade someting else. I have a lot of unused Cinelli and similar cork tape I don't use these days, and would trade half a dozen sets for one set of Hunt-Wilde. Can anyone help?
Also, the bike has DT shifters I'd like to change to barends, but I think the SunTour racheted barends are too new to be correct on a late 60's bike. I think I have a set of Campy or Simplex barends somewhere, but I'm not sure I have the DT cable stop clamp for them. Anyone have a Campy or Simplex cable stop clamp? Or a complete set of Campy or Simplex barends? Anyone know for sure when the Suntours were introduced?
