another appropriate use for this saddle: a cyclocross bike. As I understand it, lots of pros used to ride cyclocross in the winter to keep fit (some still do).
A dedicated cyclocross bike often got very, very dirty. A non-covered unicanitor was easy to hose off after a ride/race, and didn't weight much. No maintenance necessary (try that with your Brooks Pro).
I had a project cyclocross frame (Jack Taylor) that I was in the process of building up - sold it to my brother Ed when the basement got too full. I peeled the leather off a poorly maintained unicanitor and it came out beautifully so I put it on the JT.
