Dave, I think you said it yourself - you "prefer" the silver parts; other's don't.

Lots of people like their rig to be distinct from the next guy's. That need drives a lot of purchases and modifications.

Something I've been wondering about, and I notice it on the images of this bike also: Why do many Italian bikes of this era have a black anodized stem ? Was this just 'fashionable' at the time? Myself, I much prefer silver an odized or polished stems and other components. Do not like at all the curre nt fad of flat black parts-yuck.
