Speaking of A Sunday In Hell, I watched it again last night. I just received an NOS champagne Benotto 3000 (yes a Mexican made one) yesterday, so I was comparing it to the team bikes of Moser and Ritter. Mine is a little later, and actually has better detailing in terms of brazeons and engraving.
I also have a Flandria team replica, all original DuraAce, as ridden by Maaertens and Pollentier. But although Maaertens and Pollentier are on the Flandria team in the film, along with the surprise winner Marc de Mayer, the bikes appear to be all Campy, and the Shimano name does not appear on the jerseys or the team car. So I must conclude that Flandria did not ride Shimano gear in 1976.
So what years did Flandria ride DuraAce? Was it prior to or after 1976? Must have pretty close before or after, as I think original DuraAce came out about 1972 and was replaced with EX in the very early 80's. Also, I don't know how many years Maaertens and Pollentier were teammates on Flandria. As I recall Pollentier would be thrown off the TdF or another major Tour for doping.
