The individual prices you have listed are eminently reasonable, and I have no doubt that you would get well over $2K for all of them if sold separately.

NR parts, even in NOS condition, are not too hard to find, so I would say that the least common part of this bicycle is the frameset. If the bike was built with difficult to find French components, it would be harder to justify, at least morally :), parting it. But that is not the case, and you've already gone above and beyond the call of duty to try to sell it complete, so I say part it.

You get to sell your stuff for a fair price; you get to put some much needed parts on eBay, which is a service to the vintage community; and you get to unwrap that time capsule, which must be a ton of fun. Part it.

Well, one reason is because when they try to sell complete bikes, no one is willing to pay up!! I have tried 3 times to sell this complete, rare, virgin, in-the-wrapper bike for $2,000 on eBay and NO ONE has wanted it. I challenge ANYONE to tell me that the above prices aren't CHEAP, and far less than what they would cost individually on eBay, or wherever. What's a guy supposed to do?? Of course it's a shame to part-out a bike like this, but if no one wants the complete bike, then what the hell does it matter???!!! If no one on the list wants the lot, I bet you my next (dayjob) paycheck that I could easily sell every one of the above parts for a 15% - $50 premium. Anyone doubt that? Those who complain about the guys who part-out bikes must think that they have an obligation to be charitable to the vintage bike community and forgo $'s to keep a bike whole. MAYBE THAT's THE CASE, but, in my situation, a) I have given it a college try 3 times over the last few years, and b) I've been plenty damn charitable to the cycling community over the last 11 years.
