Subject: [CR]Mavic MA40 vs Mavic MA2 question on Anodizing

Mark,

I believe the MA2 rims are clear anodized over the aluminum rim, thus making it hard to polish unless the clear anodizing has deteriorated. The MA2 Argent is silver anodized over the aluminum rim, and polishing it would ruin the silver anodizing, as I discovered to my chagrin when I attempted to polish a scratch out of an Argent rim.

I currently have a pair of both. I know the 40's are hard anodized-they are dk grey, nearly black. While the MA2s are silver , I know they are not hard anodized but are they anodized at all? I ask because if the MA2's are totally unanondized, then I can polish to my heart's content.
