Hi Craig If your frame looks like the '76 it probably is close to that vintage. One should not date a frame by the components on it. Your serial number should be from the mid 70's not early. I own Serial #9641, When I bought it from the original owner he said he bought it new in '72. Refer to Pogliaghi serial # chart on the CR site. http://www.classicrendezvous.com/Italy/Pogliaghi/ pogliaghi_serial_numbers.htm The decal set was changed from early to mid 70's, also the Pogliaghi was stamped into the seat stay where it joins the seat clamp lug. I am not certain what year this happened. The D is short for 1,000 in your serial number I know there many more knowledgeable members out there on Pogliaghi dating than I am, I hope to here what they have to say.
